Osteoarthritis is the most common forms of arthritis and is a degenerative joint disease. So, early diagnosis and treatment can help patients manage their symptoms and slow down its progression. Osteoarthritis occurs when the cushiony cover that protects the end of the bone (also known as cartilage) starts to break down. Therefore, labeling it as wear and tear arthritis.

At Vancouver Orthotics we see a large number of patients who suffer from foot and ankle Osteoarthritis.

Typical symptoms associated with foot and ankle osteoarthritis are:

  • pain and stiffness in the affected joint
  • tenderness, pain and swelling near the affected joint
