Hello from Vancouver Orthotics!Dr. Michael Horowitz here after the August longweekend. I hope you all enjoyed your time off and this great weather we've been having in Vancouver.
Back to the office and with patients. A common concern our patients have is "I have foot pain". This shouldn't be suprising since we spend so much time on our feet and are even encouraged to walk 10,000 steps a day. The more specific a patient can be the better. So I'll ask patients the following;
You have foot pain? Where exactly is your foot pain? Is is the heel, the ankle, the achilles, the arch, the top of the foot, the bottom of the foot, the ball of the foot, the big toe, or other toes?The diagnosis of foot related problems often comes from the history/consultation. So the location of the foot pain can make all the difference. So next time your feet hurt and you say to yourself, "I have foot pain", lets be specific and lets find some solutions for you.
